Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Resto ("Resto," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use resto.network and related services (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you join, we collect your name, work email, LinkedIn profile URL, company website, role, and city or market. If you use other parts of the service, we may also collect what you tell us about your work, what you're looking for, and your responses to introductions.
Public information about you and your company. To build your profile and suggest relevant connections, we may review publicly available information at the LinkedIn and website URLs you provide.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting providers log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use a small cookie to keep you signed in. We do not sell this data or use it for third-party advertising.
2. How we use your information
- To list you in the Resto member directory.
- To verify that members are real people working in or around the restaurant industry.
- To suggest and make introductions between members.
- To contact you about your membership, introductions, and updates to Resto.
- If you opt in, to send you the Resto newsletter. The newsletter may be produced together with industry partners. We send it ourselves or through an email service provider, and we do not give your email address to partners for their own marketing without your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To prevent spam, fraud, and misuse of the network.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
3. AI processing
Resto uses artificial intelligence services, including Anthropic's Claude, to summarize profiles, review public company information, and suggest matches. Information you provide and public information about your company may be sent to these providers to perform those tasks. AI-generated summaries and suggestions can be inaccurate, and you can ask us to correct them at any time.
4. How information is shared
In the directory and on our site. Your directory profile (such as name, role, company, city, and LinkedIn) may be visible to other members. Your name, role, company, city, and website may also be shown publicly on resto.network, for example in a "recently joined" list. Your email address is never shown publicly or in the directory. It is only shared with another member when you both accept an introduction.
With service providers. We use trusted vendors to run Resto, including hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), AI (Anthropic), and, when paid plans launch, payments (Stripe). They may only use your information to provide services to us.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Resto, our members, or others.
Business transfers. If Resto is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, member information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep your information while you are a member. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your profile from the directory and delete your personal information, except where we need to keep it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your information, or to remove you from the directory, by emailing hello@resto.network. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example California, under the CCPA, or the EU and UK, under the GDPR), you may have additional rights. We will honor those requests as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
8. Children
Resto is a professional network for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. International users
Resto is operated in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify members by email or on the site. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
Questions? Email hello@resto.network.
